Obama’s Plan for Technology and Innovation
If you’re a geek or have an interest in technology you will want to browse Barack Obama’s principles on technology and innovation. Political parties aside, it is very interesting to see the emphasis Obama puts on technology.
Privacy
“…strengthen privacy protections for the digital age and will harness the power of technology to hold government and business accountable for violations of personal privacy.”
Technology Infrastructure
“…ensuring that all Americans have access to broadband and the skills to use it effectively, Barack Obama will position our citizens, particularly our young people, to compete and succeed in an increasingly technology-rich, knowledge-based economy.”
IT in Healthcare
“…invest $10 billion a year over the next five years to move the U.S. health care system to broad adoption of standards-based electronic health information systems, including electronic health records…Obama will ensure that patients’ privacy is protected. “
Education
“…emphasize the importance of technology literacy, ensuring that all public school children are equipped with the necessary science, technology and math skills to succeed in the 21st century economy. Access to computers and broadband connections in public schools must be coupled with qualified teachers, engaging curricula, and a commitment to developing skills in the field of technology.”
These are just a few that caught my eye. This country absolutely needs to keep moving forward with technology in order to become more efficient and reduce costs. Obama definitely seems to be headed in the right direction.
